We recently completed a shaped shutter installation in Syston, in the Charnwood area — a bright loft room with an arched window on one wall and a recessed dormer with a timber window seat on the other.
Off-the-shelf blinds struggle with that mix of shapes. Made-to-measure plantation shutters follow each opening so the room keeps its character and you still get privacy and daylight control.
Why shaped shutters?
Arched and dormer windows are common in loft conversions and period stock across Charnwood villages. Curtains hide the curve; a single rectangular blind leaves awkward gaps. Shaped shutters are templated to the glass, so the arch stays visible and the dormer panels sit cleanly in the recess.
