Shutter Installation in Leicestershire

We recently completed a shutter installation in Cossington, Leicestershire — a modern kitchen with two side-by-side windows above a dark stone worktop and stainless sink. The brief was straightforward: privacy at the sink without losing daylight, and a cleaner fitted look than loose blinds on two separate openings.

Why shutters in a kitchen?

Kitchens are one of the busiest rooms in the home. You need coverings that cope with steam, splashes and daily use, and that still look tidy from the street. Full-height plantation shutters work well here because louvres tilt for light while blocking a direct view in, and the panels wipe clean without fabric to absorb moisture.

The Cossington install

The kitchen has a four-panel window over the main sink run and a narrower single-panel window beside it. We fitted white full-height shutters to both — one set per opening so each leaf follows the glass cleanly.

After fitting

Louvres are set partly open: soft daylight in, privacy retained at worktop height. The white shutters sit neatly against the neutral walls and read well against the dark cabinets and stone counters.
